Summer 2017 so far

Our guests enjoyed some fantastic weather in May this year! There's so much daylight at this time of the year here that you can go on some great adventures in the evenings. We walked up Cairngorm and watched the sun set one evening. Even though there's a lot of light you should always take a head torch and know how to use/ carry a map and compass with you.

Winter is here!

The snow has arrived and the Cairngorms are blanketed in white once more. People are getting excited about skiing and winter sports, as well as enjoying getting cosy by the fire. There are a few winter breaks still available, please check our availability calendar for free dates and get in touch if you would like to book!

Glenmore Bike Ride

Last weekend we had a leisurely cycle around Glenmore and a fantastic lunch at Cobbs Cafe. Glenmore Forest Park is a fantastic place to explore on foot or by bike. There's a huge network of trails through woodland, with lots of wildlife to see, including red squirrels and capercaillie if you're lucky! It's about a 35 minute drive from the Robin's Nest. Close by there are also watersports activities on Loch Morlich, the Cairngorm Reindeer centre and the Forestry Commission visitor centre.

Summer evenings at The Robin's Nest

Robn's nest shared garden for all to enjoy

The longest day may be past now, but there's still plenty of summer left to enjoy. We've been enjoying the light evenings this week, working with our neighbours to keep on top of the large garden that we share with our neighbouring cottages (and chickens). We'll soon be adding a small decked seating area just outside the cottage for morning coffees, afternoon teas, or evening glasses of wine.
